Customer Reviews
Surprisingly good little known gem
This Danny Aiello, Dermot Mulroney flick is really obscure. I took a
chance and bought it based on customer reviews. What a surprise. It
takes a familiar plot and delivers a first-class, emotionally powerful
positive film. Teenage girl gets pregnant unexpectedly, boyfriend
doesn't want to become a Dad. Not very unusual. But as it plays out,
it is a touching, well acted, and believable story, leaving the viewer
satisfied, and getting a few tears along the way without being a tear-jerker. Only problem is the protagonists are obviously not of high-
school age, typical of these teen-themed movies.
A sensitive look at a tough subject
What a testament to the need to discuss birth control with young people. This film shows how the unplanned birth of a baby can wreak havoc on everyone's lives especially teens, who are not prepared for the reality of pregnancy and parenthood. Pregnancy is not all about cute little maternity outfits and precious little babies. It's about mood swings and money and sleepless nights and (lack of) money and committment and patience. It gives a glimpse into the reason why the death of young dreams and ambition often mean the death of loving relationships. Dermot Mulroney did his usual great job as the conflicted young man and Patricia Arquette gave the pregnant young woman's part a real shot of realism. Not a comedy, folks.
Great Movie!!
This is a great movie about two teenagers copeing about the realities of pregnacy. It's a must see!!!
