Kathy Baker ("Picket Fences"), Bryan Brown ("The Thorn Birds"), Shannon Lucio ("The O.C.") and Riley Smith ("New York Minute") star in this thriller about the invasion of a group of killer sharks on the Florida coast as a beach full of college co-eds enjoy their spring break from school. College girl Danielle (Lucio) lies to her parents about her spring break plans and sneaks away to the fun-filled beaches of Florida with her two best friends. Soon after arriving, she falls for Shane (Smith), a handsome young blue-collar local working to raise college money. While on vacation, Danielle seeks out her brother, Charlie (Wayne Thornley), a graduate student at the Florida Maritime Institute, whose thesis is on tiger sharks. Charlie cautions his sister to stay out of the water. He suspects that a large number of sharks are in the area due to a new artificial reef that was built to attract tourism. Caught up in spring break fun, Danielle forgets her brother's warning. However, on an overnight boat trip she and her friends are viciously attacked by a group of sharks. As they find their way to safety on an islet, the reality of the danger hits them even harder when the body of a friend washes ashore.

DON'T GIVE ME THIS BREAK
Made for TV movies can be fun, and if they're done with a proper amount of sophistication, worth viewing. This CBS TV movie is not one of those however. The sharks are hardly seen and when they are, it's not with any great amount of technical finesse. As expected, most of the college students act like pre-schoolers and unfortunately most of them aren't good actors. Shannon Lucio and Riley Smith stand out, but Justin Baldoni has little to offer but some nice pecs. With the tons of shark attack movies available, why couldn't this one try a little something different. And yes, I'll forgive the talented Kathy Baker and Bryan Brown for being the main adults in the movie. Exposure is always good and so is the paycheck.

Please release this to DVD
This movie does something unheard of in the last two decades. It entertains. Sit down, watch it and turn off your brain. Its like the old B-Movies of the 50's and early 60's only prettier. It does you no good to look for flaws because the movie relishes in them. It does you no good to try to search for a deeper meaning because there is none. This leaves you free to sit back and enjoy it. If only Hollywood got the message then they wouldn't be putting out expensive movies that no one wants to watch. They have forgotten that the purpose of a movie is to entertain and not to teach me political correctness. Besides what could be more correct than hot young babes in bikini's being terrorized by swarms of silicon addicted sharks.

This was BY FAR the stupidest movie I've ever seen. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard. It was great how even the character who was supposed to be the smart one was a complete moron. I mean when he is sitting on the boat with his legs in the water talking about how something's not right and how he's looking for sharks when two ridiculous sized sharks pass right under his boat. I love it. I hope it airs again so I can tape it because I can't find it on DVD or anything. But really if you get the opportunity, watch this movie and pat yourself on the back for not being as dumb as the people in this movie.
