Better than the box
I found this tree keeper bag to be a great improvement over trying to use the original box. Only one minor negative observation - the metal parts of the tree can poke through the bag. I bag didn't tear at all though so this is only a minor issue. Otherwise I would recommend this product to anyone. In fact, my Mom is ordering one for herself.

Stashing pesky Xmas trees a breeze!
No product leaves its packaging - never to return - like an artificial Christmas tree. By its expansive nature, it never compacts back to that original size. We've tried taping the box flaps up to make the box bigger and sealing it with a taped on garbage bag and other strategies to store this cumbersome item. But with the Rubbermaid storage bag, the problem is solved. This easily accommodates the tree and even extra items such as wreaths and holly trim. Then it pops into an attic, storage room or closet until the next holiday season.
I know it's only a heavy-duty vinyl bag, but it really is great for this pesky problem. You won't be disappointed.

UPDATE December 2009: Well, after several years, this wonderful product still does the job! We just dragged the thing down from the attic over the weekend, opened it up and the tree (I guess I should call it "tree," since it is artificial) was just as we packed it. Took only a few minutes to get it back together.

I hate to wax hyperbolic about this storage bag, but it really is rare to find a product that does what it is supposed to, does it well, and is built well enough to last for years. Great job, Rubbermaid!

Holiday Tree Keeper - great product
This storage bag for artificial trees is great. It has nice sturdy handles and retains its shape. It can also take a very large artificial tree.
