Product Description

A brief search on the Internet will read real many guides available. Written by a variety of different artists or not as the case may be. This DVD is Narrated by one of the finest award-winning miniature artist. Instead of wasting your time trying out many different techniques we show you exactly how to achieve professional results. The massive advantage over any written guide is you can actually see the techniques being applied to the model. No longer do you have to use your imagination to work out how the painting techniques would apply to your miniature. Everything is shown in a cleary step by step.

Don't expect to be watching paint dry the artist keeps the information flowing throughout with no repetition you will probably find yourself pausing the DVD to practise the techniques for yourself.

Although the miniature being used is often a warhammer fantasy ochre. Many of the skills are simply transferable highlighting on a space marine elf or all ork is basically the same we will not waste your time showing you the same techniques with different colours and models.

The DVD multipack set is split into four separate hour-long videos. In total a transcript would exceed 60,000 words combined with the pristine high-quality video this DVD set is clearly the most comprehensive guide to painting miniatures and models available anywhere on the Internet.

From the Actor
In four separate videos roughly an hour-long I will take you step-by-step through many techniques. The first video begins with correct preparation involving gap filling and pinning. I demonstrate how to use clay shapers with two-part epoxy resin (green stuff) this combined with plastic ensures miniatures are assembled correctly.

Although this is primarily aimed at people new to the hobby it certainly makes good revision for the more advanced painters among you many experienced painters have picked up tips from this first section.

The next video is dedicated to nonmetallic metal the myths are dismissed and we show you how simple this skill can be without any wet blending. For those of you wanting to take things to the next level clear demonstrations of binding coats enable you to involve 20 to 30 highlight stages if you feel it necessary. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced painter this will prove a valuable insight to NMM.

Moving on I dedicate the next hour to creating an effective base to mount your miniature arm this involves creating cobblestones paving using green stuff. Millie put is used for an alien type base with a three-phase stippling technique. Clearly for maximum effect these bases will need to be dry brushed and painted using the skills previously shown. Utilising scenic water and vulcanised would adds new levels of detail to your bases. I also include a section on treating articles and snow bases using plastics and microballoons to simulate snow and ice.

The final video is about airbrushing and vehicle simulation techniques. I begin with an overview of the airbrush and demonstrate this is all shown on a warhammer 40,000 land raider Tank. Many other techniques are covered including using make pigments to simulate rust and dirt. Combining flock with plastic party for realistic mud. Paint chips and mud splashes are also clearly shown. Using the techniques in this video I have sold model vehicles on eBay for over £250.

About the Actor
Moving on the next section covers the more advanced techniques of nonmetallic metal or NMM. Beginning with sky earth nonmetallic each stage is clearly shown. We don't waste your time showing you painting techniques demonstrated in the first section. But move on to more advanced blending techniques using extremely thin paint to bind gradients of colour together.

This allows a smooth transition from a near white white highlight to a much darker gray mastering this transition is key to most nonmetallic metal techniques. The techniques are shown on weapons large swords and axes for clear demonstration. Although nonmetallic metal doesn't have to be constrained to weapons this is its main application and the focus of this video. Many types of nonmetallic metal are clearly demonstrated including chrome NMM, Nonreflective NMM, gold NMM, rust NMM, and copper NMM, everything is in easy to follow steps no wet blending is needed.

Part three is dedicated to advanced bases. Bases really help to provide an impressive platform on which to display your hard work. Create effective cobble and paving stone using green stuff.

Adding realistic cracks with splinters useful for dungeons. Three phase stippling and realistic tentacles using milliput for tyranid and alien type bases. Creating lush landscape bases with scenic or water and plants.

Simulating armored plate welding four necron type metal bases. Simple and effective ways to produce rivets and seams. Using microballoons and varnish combined with a dry brushing technique to produce snow Arctic type bases.

The final section is all about using an airbrush. The best types of airbrush to use and how to have a cost-effective set up that is economic on paint. Airbrushing is about the only way you can effectively cover large areas such as vehicles and tanks. Highlighting and application techniques with an airbrush are shown. Other techniques included are creating effective paint chips dust and dirt simulation. How to effectively utilize mig pigments to simulate rust stains. Creating mud splashes and soil to give vehicles that are rugged appeal. Many other simple techniques like metallising with a graphite pencil are shown.
