Product Description

Mace 10% PepperGel Large is an ideal everyday personal defense product. PepperGel is a 1.4% capsaicinoid concentration suspended in a sticky gel rather than a liquid. Sprays up to 10 feet further than conventional sprays. The thick gel sticks to the face and causes temporary blindness. Mace PepperGel is hotter than many other pepper sprays on the market but is non-toxic and causes only temporary discomfort. Contains UV dye to invisibly mark an assailant for possible identification. The gel formula minimizes cross-contamination and is ideal for indoor use. Effective for up to three years. Contains 45 grams and sprays 7 short bursts with an effective range up to 18 feet. Flip-top safety cap prevents accidental discharge.

Customer Reviews

hard one to test5
looks good, shoots far. I need a volunteer to help me find out how effective it is though!!! :) I do like how the stuff is easy to aim without the risk of blowback. I was worried about it being to thick and making a gunky mess but that doesn't seem to be a problem.

This really is a gel4
This stuff comes out like silly string and is not a spray, so backwash and getting hit by your own spray while if the wind is out isn't that much of a problem. Works well, but it is a fairly substantial sized can - about the size you would see on a LEO's belt.

Cap is poorly designed2
I can't comment on its effectiveness against human agressors, but the cap is not designed very well. When you flip the cap up, it doesn't stay up. Instead, it is spring loaded to come back down own your finger. There is plastic on the bottom side of the lid that presses against the top of your finger. I guess since they have a patent on the gel they don't feel they have enough competition to putting any money into a better cap mechanism. The can would also be better if it were thinner and longer. Also, the price was 14.99 at Sports Authority vs $18 something here.
