Product Description

American Cultural History - African Americans DVD

This DVD explores the social and cultural ancestry of African Americans in wide focus, and cannot fail to expand our mental horizons on this valuable segment of our national community. In the American Cultural History - African American DVD, we are given a humane look at the social and everyday life of colored Americans over a period spanning 40 years.

American Cultural History - Cultural Kaleidoscope (2-DVD Set)

This set of DVDs presents some fascinating examples of how immigrants from China and other countries have adopted a dual stance on cultural identity. It also makes a statement on how this adherence to cultural identities has contributed to the multicultural and multi-ethnic make up of America, and earned it the soubriquet "A cauldron of cultures."

American Cultural History - Family Values DVD

The American Cultural History - Family Values DVD from A2ZCDS is a thoughtfully compiled collection of these films, because it effectively represents the multi-faceted approaches described above. The viewer is presented with an accurate cross-section of viewpoints on family values that were popular in the ‘50s. While some of them are clearly obsolete, it makes for refreshing hindsight study and can teach us a lot about where the family structure we are accustomed to now came from.

American Cultural History - Lifestyle in the Past DVD

This DVD covers in rich detail the life of American citizens in the 60s and is easily the best account on celluloid that I know of the city of Detroit. Beginning with an edifying discourse on communication, which I am certain youngsters would find useful even today, the clips cover such seemingly mundane, yet significant happenings - such as the giving away of a litter of pups by a young boy.

A Good Overview5
Wow, there are a lot of DVDs in this package. Almost all of them are good, some better than others. The racism DVD is the best, though they all have something to reccomend them. What I like is that the total package gives you a solid overview of the problems that faced America in the 20th century, from racism to drugs to emerging teenage sexuality. It's a great historical value.
