Wagner DeckMate Replacement Pad
Customer Reviews
Sturdier than it looks
Bought this spare pad at same time I bought its tool, because I thought the pad which comes with the tool would probably wear out before deck-staining job was done. I was wrong. The tool works great, and its original pad still has plenty of mileage left. So this spare-pad will have to wait for some future year to see any use.
Deckmate replacement pads
First off, the picture is deceiving. The item sent was the pad only, not the end unit with the crevice brushes attached.
Nevertheless, I tore up the first pad that came with the Deckmate on a rather small deck rather quickly. The replacement has lasted tons longer on two larger decks (20X20feet+ each). THE SECRET: push forward only with the nap of the pad, swivel the end to reverse directions. DO NOT pull backwards to spread stain against the nap. The pad does not get beaten up at all. I now have 5 extra pads expecting to go thru these things much faster. Just clean the Deckmate unit well after each use, and you should get longevity from this unique item. Coupled with Wagner's HVLP sprayer, there's not a deck this won't handle.
Misleading photo
In the photo in the listing it shows the pad attached to the lower part of the tube for the painter. What I got was just the pad - unfortunately I had discarded the lower tube, so the pad is now useless.
