Customer Reviews

"Beat'n Down Yo Trashcan" is more like it1
I'm from the south. Georgia to be exact. The place of marvelous talents such as TLC, T.I., Usher, Ludacris, and Outkast . But also the place of D4L, Dem Franchize Boyz, Young Jeezy, Yung Joc, and now, UNK. This CD Beat'n Down Yo Block is a total piece of garbage, and I'm gon break it done to you, as simple as I can...

The lyrics.... childish.... simple-minded.... and wack!!!

The beats.... bland.... boring.... and worthless!!!

Overall.... WORTHLESS

To get technical... Beat'n Down Yo Block is a CD with not a lot going on for it. The beats all sound the same using the same synth and 808s as well as patterns in some ocassions. (Note to UNK: Next time (if there even is a next time), try not to let the same guy produce every beat.) The lyrics are babyish, bland and wack, like they were written by a 5 yr old in 10 mins. The songs point-blank are stupid, and pathetic. Usually talking mainly about the a dance move. Let me break down some of the songs...

track #3 - Walk It Out... Last summer in Atlanta, this was the anthem. You couldn't change to a hip hop radio station in the A and not hear it. It was the party starter for cookouts, pool parties, or just to bob yo head to. I'll admit it, I could remember enjoying it; then it went commercial, and lost its touch. Now, it makes me want to bang my hand across the tv when I see the video. Now, hating it, I finally analyzed the song. It is the most annoying song on the album. The FruityLoop beat totally complements the idiotic rhymes the scrilly-voice of Unk spits. I don't see how I made throughout the summer w/o losing my mind. Must have been the 99 degree UV rays from the sun effecting my brain... Go figure!!!

track #5 - 2 step.... This is the second single from the album UNK says... I really, REALLY, hope not. This song is the exact copy of Walk It Out. The beat is SOOO annoying. The Staticy Synth's and (Bell synth that remind me of W.I.O!!!!), definitely will give you a headache. His lyric are once again lacking, especially when he repeats the same 2 phrases 50 times, "Now Gon And Two Step" "Now Get Jiggy With It". The song is very much like Walk it Out, except set to another lame beat by DJ Montay.

track #10 - thinkin of you... This song would've been alright if Jazze Pha would've shut the hell up, and just produced. God, I never would've thought I could think less of Jazze, being one of the best producer Atlanta has to offer, until I heard this. Just cause yo daddy was a singer doesn't mean you are, Jazze. This could've been the jugular song of this CD, and it went down the drain... The beat is actually not that bad, even though Jazze didn't produce it, the ochestra synths, and funk guitar synth makes this beat the best this CD had to offer.

track # 13 - this is how we do... That song made this CD automatically lose a star. This song has no reason of being on this LP. If you gon' call your CD hood music, you can't have a peppy song that sounds like a nursery rhyme, and an 8yr old gets more time on it than you do talking about big wheels, and coloring books. LOL. The song was produced by Big Korey, and 8 yr old. Kudos. But definitely stay in school, WORST SONG ON THE WHOLE ALBUM... PERIOD!!!!

Overall, this CD is WACK. It will only amuse you for only a short amount of time. So if you want a CD with mediocore FL Studio beats, wack lyrics, and just stupid then your in the right place... If your look for a CD with longevity, and Good, you should definitely look the other way.

I AIN'T HATING, JUST TELLING THE TRUTH

DJ Unk is just a preview of good things to come5
Dj Unk is representin the ATL an independent label Big Oomp Records....If you don't know it u better start listenin to it...Big Oomp is comprised of 4 DJs (Unk, Jelly MC Assault, and Montay)...they've been around for a minute and blow up the air waves in Atlanta and now they're starting to put out cd's for the rest of us...The whole cd is crazy...From "Walk It out", to "Bring it Back", and "Don't make us" with Yola...there is also a second cd with a track from a rapper Baby D who is soon to get mainstream ...the sound is made to get you hyped and crunk...people in the clubs go crazy over this stuff...if you like Atlanta rap and love bumpin music in ur car, u better cop this album

More garbage from the south.1
"Walk it out" is up there with other terrible tracks such as "laffy taffy" and "lean wit it rock wit it". Music like this makes me want to hug my real hip hop CDs from Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, Pac, and Wu Tang. This is a joke. Some southern music has a nice beat to it, but just has mediocre lyrics. This, is awful. The lyrics make me want to pull my hair out, and the beat it just decent. This is another no-talent loser trying to make a quick buck. Please, for the love of Hip Hop, DO NOT BUY THIS CD. Go pick up the new Nas CD, or the new Ludacris cd. Luda remains to be the only superb rapper from the south. TI is in second. Everyone else is a disgrace to this country. If we dont kill the "crunk", then "Hip Hop is Dead".
