Customer Reviews

Outstanding performance5
This album ionclues an outstanding performance of two of Mozart's piano sonatas (K. 281 and K. 310). While the piano concerto is also very beautifully played, there are many similarly satisying recordings of the concerto. There is nothing like the performance of these sonatas, at least not that I know of. The feature distinguishing it from all the rest is the inner truth: you listen to the music, and you can hearly believe everything it is telling you.
You may think you know these sonatas very well, but when you hear Gilels playing them for the first time, they'll be completely new for you.
I would purchase it even if only for the sake of these two sonatas.
