Editorial Reviews
Album Description
With their unique blend of raucous punk rock laced with reggae and dub, the Ruts were one of the most exciting bands to emerge from Britain’s late-’70s scene. Their career was cut cruelly short by the death of their singer in 1980, but still the group released six crucial singles and a seminal album in their short lifetime. They were also a powerful force within Britain’s Rock Against Racism movement, ensuring a political legacy at least as vital as their music.

Ruts - 'Get Out Of It!!' (Ozit)
UK punk band that I've heard the name before but this was the first CD I've heard of theirs for myself. Reminds me of like Sex Pistols meets the New York Dolls. The Ruts had released an actual album or two + a handful of 7" singles. Tracks that did it for me were the power-packed "Gotta Little Number", "Dope For Guns", the reggae "Jah Wars", "Human Punk" and the awesome "Savage Circle". Band's career was clearly over when vocalist Malcolm Owen died in 1980. Should do a lot for fans of the Dolls, Sex Pistols, Dead Boys and possibly New Model Army or The Jam.
