The five volumes in FOX HOME VIDEO's PERFECT DATE MOVIES all have a "Love & ____" theme. The four titles in each set are on individual discs and presented in widescreen format. Quality of the transfers is excellent. Provided extras are those typical of full-priced, single release DVDs: commentary tracks, theatrical trailers, "making of" featurettes, deleted and extended scenes, etc.

This second edition features several excellent actresses in some of their lesser films. There's no classics here, but no real bombs, either.


SYNOPSES for PDM #2 (Love & Desire)--

FRENCH KISS-- Kate's boyfriend attends a medical covention in Paris, and while there he meets a lady and falls hard for her. When Charlie calls off their wedding plans, Kate flies to Paris hoping to change his mind. On the plane, a thief hides some stolen items in her carry-on, to sneak them past Customs. Thus, an unlikely beginning for Kate of a new relationship.

LOVE POTION #9-- Plot parallels the 1959 Clovers song, right down to Madame Ruth, "the gypsy with the gold-capped tooth." A chemist who has zero luck with women experiments with the potent elixir and has startling results.

NEVER BEEN KISSED-- To do an undercover story on today's high schools, a 25 year-old newspaper editor re-enrolls and quickly takes up habits she'd outgrown after graduation. She develops a crush on a teacher she's been ordered to attack in her article and is in a quandary over what to do.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CATS & DOGS-- A veterinary radio talk show host has a listener visit her at the station. He mistakes the woman's tall and beautiful friend for her, so the insecure (and plainer-looking) vet allows her friend to masquerade as her temporarily. Watch for star Uma Thurman's brother (Dechen) in a minor role as a bookstore cashier.


The theme of PERFECT DATE MOVIES, Vol. 3 is "Love and Adventure."
