Album Description
Bonkers won Best Compilation Album at the 2006 Hardcore Awards, it was a poignant result for the best-loved hardcore series as Bonkers which is now 10 years old and to celebrate this musical milestone Resist are releasing the long-awaited and much anticipated Best of Bonkers. Best of Bonkers is the 17th volume of this unstoppably successful dance music series that has generated nearly a million sales. The Best of... continues Bonkers commitment to offering a diverse line-up of DJ's including Hixxy & Re-Con, Druid & Sharkey and Scott Brown, across a 3xCD package. Joining the Bonkers boys Hixxy, Sharkey & Scott Brown are Raver Baby / Hardcore Till I Die favourite Re-Con (aka Mike Di Scala, Ultrabeat, Rezonance Q), voted best Newcomer at the Hardcore Dance Awards 2005. The album contains classic tracks from Hixxy & Sharkey, Force & Styles, Dougal, Styles & Breeze, Brisk & Ham, Scott Brown, Sy & Unknown and European hardcore tracks from Paul Elstak, Critical Mass, Tommy Knocker, Diss Reaction and The Viper.

Customer Reviews

A nice collection!5
Best Of Bonkers gathers tracks taken off or from the same time period of the earlier Bonkers that have been forgotten. Hixxy & Re-Con have a classic Happy Hardcore mix full of cheese, kickdrums, & those chipmunky vocals we all love! Sharkey & Druid open their mix up with an intro-remix of Toytown. After track 4, the mix leaves the Happy times behind and sends you through the evolution of Trancecore to Freeform. Scott Brown's mix is nothing spectacular. He throws in the same tracks that he has over used on his recent cd mixes. It's a shame Brown didn't throw in any of his older tunes.
Overall, Best Of Bonkers is a decent collection of tunes and is a good example on how Hardcore music has changed from 1996-2007 (2008 by now). Bonkers 17 was an excellent follow up to this album because vol.17 was a fresh canvas to be used with upfront tracks!

Good for the hardcore and happy hardcore lover5
This is a great collection of hardcore and happy hardcore tracks. The mixing is good and there is a nice diversity of sub-types. All three discs are worth a listen though you will likely gravitate toward one or two depending on your preferred style. This is my favorite Bonkers album. If you like the genre then you should be clicking the buy button already. You could definitely do a lot worse.
