Product Description
Mustapha's grains of paradise are imported to Morocco from Ghana the original home for this wonderfully aromatic and pungent spice. These little red-brown seeds have a spicy aroma, and their flavor is pungent and peppery, tasting strongly of ginger and cardamom. In Morocco they are ground and used in savory dishes, and they are most important to the spice blend Ras El Hanout.

Customer Reviews
Taking pepper one step up
This is a good spice to use in place of black pepper. For me it hit all the notes of pepper and adds more with some mild background flavors.
Heard about it on good eats
As most people who've bought grains of paradise from amazon.com i heard about this product from alton browns apple pie. and it tastes great! if you plan on using it often for his recipes i'd gor with the bag not the container.
Grains of Paradise
This was the first of several items to arrive for the Apple Pie recipe from Alton Brown. Since my grinder didn't work I had to crush the seeds . Didn't get as fine as I wanted, but was OK. It did add a pinch of new taste, but not overwhelming.
