Customer Reviews

You'll Have a Swingin' Time 4
I believe this is a condensation of an adventure serial. It features a guy who was one of the best Tarzans ever: Herman Brix, who later changed his name to Bruce Bennett (you might recall him playing the pushy American who attaches himself to Humphrey Bogart, Tim Holt and Walter Huston in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, when he correctly assumes they are gold prospectors). Brix was in terrific shape for the role of Tarzan: real lean and cut, but powerful looking. True to the Burroughs book, he did not speak in the crude, monosyllabic Johnny Weismuller style, but, as an educated English lord, spoke the King's English. He employs a truly unique call of triumph, bellowing over his victims in a manner totally unlike the powerful yodels of the Weismuller versions. Yeah, the story and situations are a trifle contrived and cliched, but still this is a version which is sadly overlooked and forgotten. There is some great photography and pretty terrifying scenes, fairly authentic looking.
This is a perfect movie to watch with a bunch of friends who drink and make funny wisecracks; you'll have a blast.
