His sister drowned, and his family believes that Joey was to blame, despite his claims of innocence. Joey is convinced that the family's Nanny (Bette Davis) was responsible and refuses to have anything to do with her, but only neighbor girl Bobby (Pamela Franklin) agrees that there's something sinister about the woman minding the house. When Joey's neurotic mother Virginia (Wendy Craig) nearly dies after eating tainted food prepared by the Nanny, Virginia's sister Penelope (Jill Bennett) comes by to help. Penelope soon witnesses the bad blood between Joey and the Nanny, though before long she begins to think that the boy might be right about her after all. Jimmy Sangster adapted the screenplay from a novel by Evelyn Piper.

The Nanny
If you thought Bette Davis was scary in Whatever happened to Baby Jane?? You haven't seen anything. Davis was great as always! She ends up killing one of the children under her care. Try to catch this one if you can.

Boo. Hiss.
What a bummer that I didn't realize I couldn't play this on my reguar DVD player. Able to watch it on my 12-inch computer screen. YAY! Love the movie, but one must be carefull about the format. Lesson learned.

Scary Nanny
The Nanny is about a sadistic nanny, the children under Her care are mean and have a few tricks up their sleeves. Bette Davis is scary and so are the kids. the back and forth efforts to torment each other make the Nanny a great horrror suspense thriller.Bette was the best the Nanny proves it.
