Fantastic!!!
I bought this item because my laptop speakers are just not loud enough to enjoy movies or music on. I wanted something small and portable rather than a large set of speakers. This product is perfect and the sound quality is excellent. The other fabulous feature is that it does not require an external power source. You just plug it in to your usb port and you are in a whole new dimension of sound. Would give this item more than 5 stars if I could. It is fantastic! I plan on buying a few more to give as gifts for Christmas.

Great Little Portable Speaker
This is a great speaker system to bypass your poochy laptop speakers. Don't expect concert-level volume, but it's plenty loud enough to watch movies or listen to music, and the fact that it runs off of th USB port is a big convenience. My laptop recognized it right away and gave me a separate speaker volume control. What would make it perfect was to make the USB cord a little longer and include some kind of clip to attach it to the top of your laptop screen (right now I sit it between the top of the keyboard and the bottom of the screen).

Exactly what I needed!
My IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad (several years old) was not able to produce audible audio from the YouTube videos I'd uploaded and I was looking for a very portable way to amplify the sound.

This speaker bar does exactly that. Now the soundtracks are easy to hear; the one USB connection to the laptop transmits the sound to the speakers and powers them as well; and the small size and weight make carrying it right inside my laptop bag quite simple. I would highly recommend it for this particular purpose.
