When a pregnant young woman consults her doctor about an abortion, he tells her the story of the Del Junco family, headed by Don Rafael, a severe patriarch whose daughter, María Elena, becomes pregnant by a traveling salesman. Don Rafael sends María Elena and her nanny, María Dolores, to his country house where they are the prisoners of Bruno the foreman. Though Bruno has orders to kill the baby when it is born, María Dolores begs for the child's life and flees to Mexico City, where she raises him as her own. María Elena spends years searching in vain for her son, and eventually enters a convent. The boy, meanwhile, grows to manhood and becomes a doctor. While interning at a hospital, he meets a pretty young volunteer who takes him home to meet her family, including her aunt, Sister María Elena, and her grandfather, Don Rafael.

So Far...
I have watched only the latest version of this telenovela with Kate Del Castillo and Saul Lisazo which was a pretty good novela, but not one of my favorites... I dont know why I bought this one, since I was not even born yet when it came out on television but I think what made me buy it was the fact that Humberto Zurita is in it and I am very big fan of his. I have also collected almost every telenovela that they have come out with and a lot of them where made badly edited from its orginal version. So far I have only finshed watching the first disc and the editing is not too bad so far and the storyline is able to carry on without getting confused or wandering what just happened. I love the drama that Veroncia Castro brings to her character and makes her seem so innocent and spirted like how women were back in the old days, esp. in Mexico. If you are a fan of Veroncia Castro or of this storyline than I would recommend it, but other than that do not waste hours watching it.
Clasicos Mexicanos
