Hilarious Mexican Dark Comedy 5
This movie moves fast & is hilarious. It is great casting of some of the very best actresses in Mexico with the lead Matriach of the Black Widows being the well known, Evangelina Elizondo. The Madre keeps & adds to the women's fortune by having them each marry wealthy men and killing them off when they need more funds or the men cause difficulties. The movie title is a play on words/phrases that only someone from Mexico City would actually understand and find amusing. I am not certain why this movie is not in the Top 10 or certainly Top 100 lists of Spanish movies. It has a tight, fast paced story, & comedic drama that touches on a unique brand of Mexican feminism. The movie is excellent and I would put it right up there with any Pedro Almodovar comedy. I recommend this to those that enjoys a good comedy, foreign movies, Spanish speaker or student. The Mexican director is Busi Cortes. I am not familiar with her work but will look her up to see what else she has done. I purchased and watched this recently and am really glad it is in my collection.
