Archival records show a U.S. Army training aircraft with four men aboard crashed into Mount Mendel in Kings Canyon National Park, California on November 18, 1942. The four were identified, but only partial remains were recovered and buried in a common grave. The case was closed until two ice climbers stumbled across the cryogenically preserved remains of one of the men. To understand how scientists are identifying the body, ABC News traveled to the military's Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command in Honolulu where forensic anthropologists, dentists and doctors are carefully studying the remains for clues. Anchor: John Donvan. Correspondent: Bill Redeker.
