Customer Reviews

Why isn't this included with the camcorder?5
I was annoyed to find that the equipment that came with my new camcorder did not include a cable to connect the camera to my computer. The USB cable that the manufacturer supplied was useless; I could find no software to recognize the connection. I tried locating this cable at a couple of stores in the area, then ordered this.

Well, it works great! It fits the camera, something that "standard" firewire cables don't do. Adobe Premier recognized the connection as soon as I plugged it in and downloaded video for editing.

Now for the hard part: Reducing 2 hours of HD video to something viewable.

Just what was needed5
My JVC camcorder would absolutely not "talk" to my computer before acquiring this firewire. The product was unbelievably inexpensive, came quickly, and was exactly and precisely what was needed. What's not to love!

The connection is finicky3
The cable gets the job done. But when I first make the connection to the video camera, and the software gives me the ok to download from an external device, it doesn't always "connect" right away. It'll start searching for the device and then say there's nothing connected. I'll have to click start again and jiggle the connection to the camera for it to recognize it. This may even happen more than once...then it'll connect ok and go though the entire process without error. It's just a bit annoying at first sometimes.
