The word "majestic" best describes the total presentation of this beautiful number. A traditional pahu (drum) section introduces the musical section and concludes the number. An Advanced Dancer's knowledge of the hula is definitely required to master Nani Hanalei. Kumu Kea choreographed this dance especially for the dancer, who models the teaching as well as the costumed solo dance. This dramatic hula is well worth the extra effort required to dance it.
