Considered to be one of the finest singers in the world, Raul Malo has always crossed cultures and blurred musical boundaries, breaking new ground with his distinctive balance of vintage sound and contemporary attitude. Born in Miami of Cuban parents, Raul is best known as the founder and frontman of Grammy-winning, multi-platinum band the Mavericks. Formed in 1990, the Mavericks were one of the decade's biggest country bands, recording seven albums, including their 1994 breakthrough, What a Crying Shame, and twice being named Top Vocal Group by the Country Music Association.
This is Raul Malo's first solo Christmas album, which features Raul's beautiful and unique interpretations of beloved holiday tunes. Some songs are distinctly stylized, some traditional, others sung with a hint of humor, but all very nostalgic.

At Last!! What Raul's Fans have been waiting for!!!
Raul Malo is one of the most accomplished vocalists of all time. His fans are legion, and he puts on some of the most outstanding performances imaginable. If you've not seen him live, in concert--well, that should be on a list of things to do in your lifetime!! He puts on a magnificent holiday show at the end of each year, during his tour, and it's a can't-miss occasion, indeed!
This long-awaited Christmas/holiday album delivers the incomparable vocalizations of Raul, along with the phenomenal piano accompaniment of Robert Chevrier. The title song could well have been called "Marsh-Malo World!!" EVERY song is superbly rendered. But, of course! Raul Malo is a vocalist in the league of a Roy Orbison.
It's refreshing to hear his vocalizations on standards such as Silent Night. Malo takes a song and makes it his own. In December 2006, his Christmas show was a preview of the songs on the CD; Raul's incomparable guitar playing and the piano accompaniment of the magnificent Robert Chevrier are much in evidence on this album. Santa's Back in Town, Blue Christmas, and Jingle Bells all get a marvelous re-invention by Raul. If you get a chance to catch his 2007 Christmas tour, do yourself a favor and go!
Lovers of Raul, of holiday music, or the holiday season will be thoroughly absolutely delighted with this CD. Magnifique!!!
