Gould extracted all the Intermezzi from Brahms' late piano sets Opp. 76, 116, 117, 118, & 119, and recorded them in 1960.

Again, there are some fine readings out there, but no one really gets it like Gould does: the philosophical depth of cognizance; the inner voicings; the profound sorrow yet with clarity of acceptance.
