Editorial Reviews

From the Manufacturer
The deluxe version will still detect a baby's slightest movements, even while she sleeps, and sound an alarm if no movement whatsoever is detected for 20 seconds. The NEW Deluxe Model has many added features. The Nursery Unit has a soft nightlight and room thermometer. The temperature is displayed on the Parent's Units, which can alert you when the temperature falls out of your preset range. Additional new features include an out-of-range indicator, a Parent's Unit locator, optional voice activation and a color LCD on each Parent's Unit which displays all the data. Each Parent's Unit comes with 4 AAA rechargeable batteries and a charging base. This monitor continues to offer an optional tic feature. If movement is detected, they will tick. Additional features include sound lights and movement indicator lights. The NEW Deluxe Angelcare model operates on both 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies. The sound monitor operates on the 900 MHz frequency so there is no interference from 2.4 GHz equipment. The monitor has 8 channels and an 820-' range.

Finally I can get some sleep! Awesome product5
I am a first time mom and my son is 6 1/2 months old. We used to swaddle him and he slept wonderfully (almost 11 hours a night) no problem. Then he started rolling over and we couldn't swaddle him anymore. Problems started there. He is one of those babies that prefers to sleep on his stomach and just would not lie on his back. What's worse is that he would bury his nose right into the mattress so that you couldn't even see it and would resist me if I tried to help him turn his face to the side. At first I tried to turn him over every time he went onto his stomach, to no avail. He fought me even harder. I was so worried that he wouldn't be able to breathe and would suffocate himself with his nose in the mattress. I didn't want to buy another monitor because we already had one that we paid $100+ for that works great. However, after weeks and weeks of getting 2-3 hours of sleep a night I had to give in.
BOY AM I GLAD THAT I DID! THIS PRODUCT WAS A LIFESAVER FOR ME.

Let me say that if you are struggling with the same fears you should get this monitor and save your sanity. I am finally sleeping soundly and my son sleeps so much better because I'm not hanging over the edge of the crib watching his every move, disturbing his sleep. We both sleep soundly now.

This monitor isn't cheap, but I think it is well worth the money. I also like the feature of the temperature monitor because we live in a cold place and in our bedroom it can get down to below 60 degrees at night even though our thermostat is set on 73 (our apartment's heating system doesn't work well at all). This helps me be sure that our space heater is keeping it within a temperature range that is appropriate for the baby.

I was surprised when I took the unit out of the box that the sensor pad is so small (about 12 x 12" more or less); I didn't think that it would work, but so far we've had no problems and we've had it for about a week. Also, don't waste your money buying the "board" that they sell to put under the monitor. From what I understand it is a waste of money and you can get something just as good at your local hardware store for much less. I already had a board very similar that is working just fine for us.

I am well pleased with the product....but definitely make sure that you turn off the sensor before removing the baby from the crib or the alarm will go off and it is loud. Great product....thank you, thank you, thank you for inventing this.

Worth it for peace of mind5
We had a premature baby that spent some time in the NICU. They didn't feel a monitor was necessary for her, but we were nervous so researched and found this product. We love it! You do need to read the manual and decide if you need to adjust sensitivity. It did not go off when we took the baby out of the crib when we had a fan running, so other vibrations can fool it. Other than that it consistently goes off when we forget and take the baby out of the crib without turning it off. We also haven't had any false alarms, just once when she was breathing very shallow (I was awake and in the room with her) and it might have been legitimate. The beep woke her up enough that she started breathing normally again. It is not a piercingly loud noise, btw, and after spending time in the NICU with lots of babies on monitors, it doesn't even wake our baby up when it goes off. (we frequently forget when we take her out of the crib... ;)
I've recommended this to my pregnant friends. It is a bit pricey, but if you have a preemie or are the type to worry, it is definitely worth the money.

good baby monitor for preemies5
we bought this a few days after we brought our son home from the hospital he had been born at 31 weeks and after spending 5 weeks with him on monitors in the NICU I couldn't sleep with out checking on him every half hour. This monitor has allowed me to sleep again.
The movement detector feature works very well, we used a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to place under it and it functions fine so I would say its not necessary to get the manufacturer recomended piece of wood to place the mat on. Our son sleeps in a pack and play with the bassinet insert and the monitor has no trouble picking up his movements. It is very comforting to me to see the little detector bar going back and forth on my monitor at night. It picks up every breath. I have had two false alarms where it did not detect movement, both times I had left the vibration feature going on his mattress.
We have been using this for a month now and I feel like it was worth the money. The audio part of the monitor is great too. It has a microphone feature so it only transmits when the baby makes noise and you can adjust the sensitivity to hear your babies every sniff, or only when they are crying to be fed. This way you don't have to listen to the constant hum of a conventional baby monitor.
It has some other features like an alarm when the r
