very nice opener
Received this a couple days ago, and I already like it very much. I haven't tried any of the other new styles of can opener to compare, but I sure like it better than the traditional Swing-Away style that I've only ever used. When you use it, it doesn't feel like it is doing anything. You don't feel the resistance of the Swing-Away and you definitely don't need much hand/finger strength to turn the handle. At first I didn't think it was cutting the metal and I went around the can 2 or 3 times. However, the difference from traditional openers is that the top doesn't pop off as you're opening. You do just need to go around once and then grasp the top and put some pressure on it with your thumb to free it from the can. You'll eventually find out where exactly the blade cuts and where to push the lid.
So far, after opening 8-6 cans, I really do like it. The packaging says it has a lifetime warranty for repair/replacement at no charge. I had one of those battery operated/do it by itself can openers, which is fine for some cans, but cannot deal with small cans like tomato paste properly. I would always end up using a can opener and wasting most of the product. Looking at Amazon's selection I saw that this one had good reviews, so I took a chance. It is well made/solid, easy to use (does not take much strength), and leaves non-cutting edges. And it works great on tomato paste cans !! You can't go wrong with this product if your looking for a manual can opener.

It's hard to believe how well this product works!
The whole family was amazed how easily and efficiently this device opens cans. None of us want to use the electric opener again. While you crank the key, which takes no effort, you are sure it's not working until you get all the way around and the lid just comes off. No sharp edges, nice and clean. We've been using it about a month now and the results are always consistent. The only thing that remains is to see is how long it will keep working this good.
