Product Description

Jay-Z has been one of the most influential figures in Black American music since the mid-nineties. Initially as a performer racking up an incredibly successful string of hit singles and albums and latterly as an executive, having taken on the presidency of Def Jam Records in 2004. "Reasonable Doubt" was his debut album and is still considered by many to be his finest achievement. A much harder hitting and edgy record than his later more polished and pop orientated releases it announced to the world that a new rap star had arrived. This latest addition to the Classic Albums series sees Jay-Z take us back through the whole creative process behind this stunning first release.

"Classic Albums: Reasonable Doubt" will be airing on VH-1 Classic this fall.

Features excerpts from: Can't Knock The Hustle (with Mary J Blige) Can I Live Dead Presidents II D'Evils Ain't No Nigga (with Foxy Brown) Coming Of Age Bring It On Regrets & more...

Bonus Features Additional interviews and demonstrations not included in the broadcast version. Original videos for "Ain't No Nigga" (with Foxy Brown) and "Can't Knock The Hustle" (with Mary J Blige).

A Phenomenal HIP HOP Masterpiece5
This was a great documentary of the Classic album "Resonable Doubt. You are not a true Jay-Z have until you have this DVD. What makes this so cool, is hearing Jay explain the process of making this incredible album with each producer. This album is arguably the greatest hip hop album of all-time. He explains the struggles, experiences of his drug dealing days in his music. I love this album because it's so real, in a sense just hearing Reasonble Doubt is almost like hearing a movie on audio. This a great watch, and it's something every real hip hop head should include in their collection. ....A MUST HAVE!

VH1 Classic Albums -Reasonable Doubt by Jay-Z5
VH1 delivers a classic recreation of the making of hip-hop titan Jay-Z's debut album Reasonable Doubt. Packed with intriguing, informative interviews and commentary from various artists involved with the production of the music, the DVD definitely kept my attention. I really enjoy watching the passion with which Jay-Z explains the lyrics to some of his hit records, including "D'Evils." The only downside would be the abscence of Damon Dash, obviously due to the Roc-A-Fella breakup. I would have liked to hear Dame's poignant recollections of the time period that led to the birth of one of the most groundbreaking albums in New York rap. Other that that, this DVD is incredible. A must have for any true Jigga fan.

wish it had more concert footage3
This is a pretty nice dvd. I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting WAY more concert footage from the reasonable doubt concert at radio city music hall last year, there are maybe 2 minutes total footage in this dvd. When I googled the dvd it was announced in a press release as "Jay-z concert coming to dvd" so I hope they will actually bring out the full concert soon. It was cool seeing the creation process for the album especially from the producers, wish there were more music videos included like dead presidents II.
