Iomega Portable Hard Drive4
Fast, small and light - just the features for a portable hard drive. Good for storing video and audio flies and fast enough to play them back directly from the drive. Comes with both USB and Firewire connections, and the cords, plus a power cord in case port does not provide sufficient power. Only one Firewire port so can't daisy-chain.

Smallest Ever! PC/USB users caution.5
This thing is super small and the case is almost identical to the aluminum material of my MacBook Pro. I haven't found a smaller firewire drive. The case does get a bit warm when used for extended periods but that is to be expected because it doesn't have a fan.

I tried it with my Dell Inspiron 8600 (via USB) and it would not work. The drive pulled too much juice from the USB port and tripped the power surge protection every time I plugged it in. My Dell has done this with other devices so it could just be the Dell and not the external drive.

Completely satisfied with this device. I do wish it has the 7200rpm disk in it and a FireWire800 port, however. But you cannot find that combo in portable drives right now. So this was the next best thing.

Using it for my Mac Leopard Time Machine backups. Works smoothly and transparently. Coolest thing about Leopard, for my money.
