Editorial Reviews
Album Description
Rebelution first united in Santa Barbara, California, built from a wide array of musical backgrounds. With Reggae as the focus, the group set out to create a fresh and vibrant sound which they dub California Reggae. The band released their highly anticipated full-length album in June of 2007 and just weeks after its release, "Courage to Grow" became one of the most downloaded Reggae albums on iTunes. By the end of the year, it had been awarded the iTunes Editors Choice: Best Reggae Album 2007. "Apparently, California Reggae is hot. Stemming from a foundation of local support, Rebelution soared into iTunes Reggae Top 10 (album downloads), amongst some lofty company. Lofty like Bob, Stephen, and Damian Marley." -- Santa Barbara News-Press
Customer Reviews
Soooooooo good
This is a great album! If you enjoy the likes of Pepper, The Expendables, Slightly Stoopid, etc. then you will definitely dig this one.
Saw these guys live in Towson, MD, and they rocked.
Addicted
I am addicted to Rebelution. All it took was one preview, and I purchased the album without knowing anything about the band. This album has ruled my car's CD player, and my iTunes playlist for the last few months. Upbeat, feel-good reggae with catchy melodies and good harmonies. "Safe and Sound," "Ordinary Girl," and "Attention Span" stand out for me.
WOW - This is awesome - I'm not even a Reggae fan
Awesome stuff - this has not been marketed properly. These guys are relatively unknown and they are absolutely tremendous musicians. If you like great grooves and a high recording quality then get this. No need to be a reggae fan to enjoy this, One of the rare albums where EVERY track is just great. I am so happy to find an album where every track is so good. I like good drumming - big band, funk, jazz, rock and some pop - you will enjoy this guarenteed. This is refreshing stuff - think Santana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers in reggae mode....
