Ky-Mani is another of Bob Marley's talented children, half brother to Ziggy and siblings. He is a multitalented performer who has already collaborated with Wyclef Jean and is well on his way to becoming a movie star. He and his band are Jamericans, or American-reared people of Jamaican birth or ancestry. Not surprisingly, his songs travel between a roots-oriented aesthetic and bottom-heavy dance-hall grooves, but are also lightly touched by a sleek R&B/pop sensibility that was probably absorbed during his Miami boyhood. However, whether his agile, rough-edged tenor is inexorably focused on the beat or diffused like ganja-scented smoke rings, the lyrics adhere to conscious Rastaman concepts and lessons. The band is similarly by the book, featuring an ornate, melodic bass, a suavely empathetic female back-up choir, honking sax lines, and a rhythm section that could pulverize solid granite. --Christina Roden

Heir apparent? Yes!5
If Ky-mani stays true to the sound on this CD as opposed to his first release he could be the heir to the void left when his father Bob Marley left this world. Ky-mani's voice is almost identical and manipulates his vocal stylings like his father for some amazing results. The title track "Many More Roads" has vocals that sound just like Bob's musings on "Running Away" complete with twisted, throaty, half muffled, teasing vocals that are hauntingly reminiscent. Ky-mani is in fine form for this CD as he stays close to the source without going too deep into other forms like his initial effort where he explored rap. "Heart of a Lion" is pure Marley, it matters not who is singing it is the spirit that lives on. This song is one of my favorites with it's message of strength in mind, body and spirit. I really was floored when I first heard this CD and play it often as it is as close as it gets to having a new Bob Marley CD. In all fairness Ky-mani has established himself as a magnificent artsit himself, he just happens to be the son of one of the most beloved artists to have walked this earth. The band is tight and plays in a style that would have made the original Wailers proud. The I-Three's like background vocals are complimentary as well giving perect harmony. The songs on this CD are great, plain and simply put this is Ky-mani's effort to date. Some of the themes explored are love, faith , hope, revolution and freedom, all of this in the guise of a true Rastaman. I've heard all the Marley children's music and Ky-mani is at this point the strongest considering his song writing talents as well. I love this CD, play it numerous times in a day and feel much love after listening to it. No need to hit "skip" on this CD, it's more like "replay." I highly recommend this CD to all fans of reggae, this is a hot CD that stands on it's own but continues the legacy. Long live the Marley family and may Jah continue to bless and nurture Ky-mani's talents! Great stuff not to be missed by anyone who likes reggae. This CD is much more than being about a tat, dreadlocks and genes, it is about a spirit that lives on, the "Heart of a Lion."

Well den! The name Marley will be hoisted to the top roots reggae once more. I knew the I-dren would pull it off ( .... and let them know, we won't stop till we get there!). Sounds real comfortable with his sound. Excellent album. Essential for ANY collection. One Love

Another great Marley album...5
Seems like another apple didn't fall far from the tree. Just like his Dad and other siblings, Ky-Mani once again shows he can play other styles of music as well as roots reggae, yet keeps the spiritual torch burning, giving thanks and praises to JAH and calling all bredren and sistren to stand strong and trust in the Almighty.
