The life of a Venice sculptor (former James Bond George Lazenby of ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE) is torn apart when his visiting young daughter (Nicoletta Elmi of DEEP RED and TWITCH OF THE DEATH NERVE) is found murdered. But when the police are unable to find the killer, the grieving father's own investigation uncovers a high-level conspiracy of sexual perversion and violence. What depraved compulsions led to the murder of this child? And most horrifying of all, WHO SAW HER DIE?
Adolfo Celi (THUNDERBALL, DANGER: DIABOLIK) and Anita Strindberg (THE ANTICHRIST, THE EROTICIST) co-star in this disturbing giallo directed by Aldo Lado (NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS, SHORT NIGHT OF GLASS DOLLS) and featuring a remarkable score by Ennio Morricone (THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE).

excellent giallo murder mystery thriller
This is a good giallo mystery movie from 1972.
There are alot of others from this period which haven't even been released yet and this one has had two releases! It was quite controversial when it first came out with the sinister murder of two small girls by a monstrous child mollestor. Who kills off other characters too of course!. This was not a subject that was in movies much in the early 1970's either. The excellent director ALdo Lado is a very good artist and he's at the top of his game here. He has created a movie with a sinister feeling of dread that particularily erupts when a strange song of singing children comes on. The acting is excellent in this one with the always great Aldo Celi in a sinister supporting role; George Lanzenby fills the role of leading man well too, and the charming Anita Strinberg is engaging as well in the female lead role.
Like many giallos the killer wears black gloves (lace ones this time) and the killers identity is not revealed until the last scenes of the flick. Making this a traditional giallo murder mystery with some bloody violence and a few sex scenes. A good giallo is in my opinion great entertainment. Giallos always had a certain zinge to them and hopefully blue underground can search out some that HAVEN'T been released before. Movies like the classics like 'the etruscan kills again", "the killer reserved nine seats" , "eyeball" and so many other great giallos that should be out on dvd.
