Jim Kelly plays Jones, a secret agent who has gone into semi-retirement, concentrating instead on teaching the martial arts to inner city youths. The karate school is run by a kindly old coot named Pops ,played by Scatman Crothers. His gambling debts, however, bring the local thug, Pinky, down on him. To make matters worse, Pinky is then hired by some white thugs who want to get a hold of the property Pops' school occupies so they can build a shopping mall. When things get heavy, Black Belt Jones leaps into action. Only he's not alone. Pops' daughter, Sidney, shows up to lend a hand, proving herself every bit as agile and powerful a martial artist as Jones.

Awful Transfer
I absolutely love this movie. I am one of the world's biggest Jim Kelly fans. BUT this DVD is an awful transfer. It is taken straight from a VHS and has not been digitally remastered. At the beginning of my movie I have old VHS tracking noise, then the company gets the tracking right I guess by holding the tracking button on the VCR. There is only about two instances of this, but when one buys a DVD, he expects no VHS type tracking noise.
Tha Black Bruce Lee
This movie is full of action!!! Should be apart of any Black movie collection. As a fan of kung fu movies, I first encountered Jim Kelly in the movie Enter the Dragon, where they breifly gave you some of his skills. Since seeing him in this film, I have been a fan of his and other Black film Heros. He is "THE BLACK BRUCE LEE!!!" (P.S.- all praises and much RESPECT to "MASTER LEE")
It's A Bootleg
This is a bootleg copy of the film released by some no-name distributor. Don't waste your time. Warner Bros. (the makers & owners of the film) have announced that they're releasing their entire archive - "Black Belt Jones" (HOPEFULLY!) included - to DVD over the next couple of years. Take a pass on this wackjob and wait for the authentic version.
