Customer Reviews

"A"mazing!5
Pros: This IS an amazing case! It is bigger in real life than you can judge from the pics. Room to mount everything you want with room to spare. Well made, beautiful finish. All needed hardware. No problems attaching header panel cables to the very back of the system. All the requisite ports right up front. Connectors well labeled. Solid removable MB tray. Lift w/ your knees. It is rock solid (steel) and has some weight to it. Highly recommend it.

Cons: Excellent case, but not perfect. Would like filter(s) in the bottom of the case and behind side door fan. Side door fan is not too loud, but you can hear it. Frame for video card fan is awkward to install. Pricey for some, but no regrets here.

Other Thoughts: First new system in 5 years. This case, EVGA 790i SLI MB, Q9300 w/ Zalman 9500 AT, 2x2GB Patriot Viper 1333, 3x250mb Seagates, EVGA 8800GTS 512MB KO, Coolmax CUQ1200W, burner, etc. No buyer's remorse, just one INCREDIBLY happy camper. Absolutely recommend it.

Fantastic case5
Oh, where to begin?

First off, this is an unbelievably large case. Standing a hair under 2 feet tall and a smidge under 10 inches wide, it really is an immense piece of furniture. I literally laughed aloud when I saw the box it was packaged in -- it's enormous. But of course if you're looking into a full tower for better air flow and expandability, that's a good thing!

Swapping all of my components from my aging Rosewill Mid-Tower into this case was a breeze. This tower is very thoughtfully designed with an emphasis on ease of use. To install hard disks you pull out a plastic chasis, snap the locks in place, and then slide it back into the HD cage.

If anything, installing 5.25" devices is even easier! Simply remove the drive bay cover (it snaps out with a little tug) and push your device into the slot until it locks in place. Perhaps I'm a bit too enthusiastic about this all, but as a user of somewhat old school mid-towers for the past several years this is just so refreshing.

I could go on and on, but other reviews have covered the pertinent features. The last thing I'll mention is that my idle temperature dropped from 52 degrees celsius to 38 degrees celsius, bearing in mind that I went from a cluttered mid-tower (Radeon 4870 hugging four HDs) to a spacious full tower. Still, it's a remarkable difference and if you're on the fence -- don't be! It's well worth the money.

There were early reports of sharp metal edges inside the tower but I'm happy to report I didn't nick or otherwise cut myself at all.

I love the packaging and protection in the box4
My brother in NY shipped me the case as-it-was-received all the way around the world to Dubai (United Arab Emirates). Amazingly it reached me in one piece! the outer box was bent and damaged a little bit, but the case its self was safe and sound. Two thumbs up for the packaging Thermaltake.

This case is HUGE and HEAVY, if you don't mind that then this is the right case for you.
It comes with 3 installed fans, 140mm intake mounted on the front of the case, 225mm intake on the side transperant panel with blue LED, 140mm exhaust fan at the rear of the case. Those fans do a good job, but I added three extra 120mm fans to make sure there is enough airflow to cool everything inside.
The only thing that disappointed me was that you can't mount an exhaust fan on the top of the case as Thermaltake claim on their website. The holes for the fan are there, but there is a steel mesh which is very well attached to the top covering the holes, so you can't fasten a fan at all. The idea of an exhaust fan on the top was one of the key points that I like to buy this case for (since hot air goes up) but not being able to mount one was really a disappointed that costed Thermaltake a star in my rating. How could they miss such thing (drilling holes for a fan then cover them?!).

Assembly is really nice, it took me around three hours to move everything from my old case to this mammoth one, cabling can be managed easily, you can also hide all the cables between the motherboard tray and the rear cover, so your front view is clean from any cables and you can see all your gadgets at work.
One other nice thing that is not mentioned in Thermaltake website, there is a SATA connection on the top of the case next to the USB and firewire console, so if you have an external hard that you manually built, you can connect it directly using a SATA cable for a helluva faster data transfer than USB2 or 1GB Ethernet.

Bottom line, if you are looking for a super tower case and you liked the design and looks of this one, don't be afraid, the insides will amaze you more than its size! go for it.
