Exquisite
The performances could not be better in any way. And the music is both beautiful and haunting. I find it very addictive.

Fire Burning in Snow
I was lucky to be in London on holidays & saw a brochure for the concert which I attended. It was just awesome & the CD is pretty much as I remembered it, so now able to savour as I desire.
Can't get enough of it...

OK, but . . .

I bought the CD for my wife who fell in love with this sort of music after hearing it on a satellite radio baroque music program. I purchased the disc Lima - La Plata Missions Jesuites with Ensemble Elyma directed by Gabriel Barrido for her, which she loved, followed by this one.

Most of the de Araujo tracks here are duplicated, and are performed quite differently, the tempi on this CD being much slower to the point that the selections lose a lot and have very little energy and verve.

Much of the other music is very nice, but we have little to compare it with. It is interesting music, but if I were to purchase one of these two CDs, it wouldn't be this one.
