Average customer review:Product Description
Founding member Trevor Hutchison spent much of 2007 pouring over the band's body of work to select the tracks that best represent not only the energy, drive and fire that Lúnasa is known for, but also the uniqueness of their compositions and arrangement style. Along the way, the band made a side trip to the Compass Sound Studio in Nashville to re-record "Aibreann" and "Morning Nightcap" as a way of illustrating the sound of the current lineup and in the process redefined these band favorites as classics of their repertoire. The end result is a mind-blowing showcase of arguably the greatest instrumental group ever to exist in Irish music.
The Story So Far includes expansive liner notes on the band s history and an extensive photo journal of the past 11 years. Featured are current band members double bassist Trevor Hutchinson, piper Cillian Vallely, flutist Kevin Crawford, fiddler Sean Smyth, and guitarist Paul Meehan, as well as past members Donogh Hennessy (guitar), Michael McGoldrick (flute) and John McSherry (Uilleann pipes).

Customer Reviews
just great!
To everyone who thinks 'i have the previous six' here's the reason to buy this one: the re-recordings of some old numbers is astonishing. Slight alterations and great to listen too.
First time buyer?: be prepared to buy another six cd's from these lads. Their attitude to playing music is much more professional than a whole lot of todays socalled stars.
Hoping you all enjoy this cd (again)!!
Outstanding celtic music
The music that Lunasa plays is so much like the small town pub music my wife and I heard on our last trip to IRE. We trekked all over the country, bad roads and all, to visit the small very local pubs- finding a grandmother holding a baby while she sips a pint and sings a song. Loved the music.
Rollicking Celtic Intrumentals
Lunasa is a remarkably talented group of instrumentalists that present beautifully arranged traditional Irish music on traditional instruments that somehow sounds modern at the same time. Their music is the type that you can play softly in the background or crank up at full volume depending on your mood.
This collection was my first introduction to them and I have since picked up a few other CDs all of which are very good. Based on my own experience if you haven't heard them this is a good place to start.
