Product Description

Experience the Maxxima MLN-20 LED Night Light with built in power failure emergency flashlight. This light has a built in rechargeable emergency light, which will automatically go on at the bottom of the light in the event of a power failure. This light is so smart that you can use it at any time as a Night Light, Flashlight, or Emergency Light. Should you wish to use this as a flashlight you can simply remove it from the plug and the flashlight mode will automatically turn on for you to use around the house. When finished you can plug the light back in and it will turn off the flashlight and go back to Night Light mode which will only activate the light in darkness. Of course you can switch the light into the off position when you do not require any light.

Multi-tasking Night Light5
The Maxxima MLN-20 LED night light is one smart little device. It really serves three functions in one; here is the rundown:

The night light contains only LEDs, light emitting diodes, so it uses very little energy (and does not contain Mercury). The night light is light-sensing so it is not on during the day or when other lights are on. The panel over the LED is frosted so the LED is not piercingly bright.

The night light must contain an internal battery because if the power goes off, another LED on the bottom of the night light provides floor level lighting - this would be great during an emergency.

The kicker is that the entire unit can be easily unplugged and then used as a miniature flashlight. The cover on the bottom LED is not frosted, so the flashlight has a pretty good directional range.

There is an easy-to-access switch on the side of this device with the option to turn the device off entirely, turn off the night light function (so only the floor lighting would come on during a power loss) or turn on all the functionality.

The only con I can see for this product is that it blocks both outlets when you plug it in. There is definitely enough clearance over the unused outlet to access it by using a low profile "flat plug." A flat plug is low profile where it goes into the wall (i.e. it doesn't stick up and usually makes a sharp turn.)

Overall the Maxxima MLN-20 LED night light is an economical and practical small electronic device for the home that should appeal to your inner geek.

exactly what i need for a great price too5
These lights are awesome. I got 2 for my home and it's well worth the purchase. Where I live we lose power frequently, and having these have been a major help in the dark. They are perfect for the random plug in the hallways that rarely get used anyway. The sensor is great because I don't have to remember to turn the lights on or off, it's automatic. At night they are a perfect low energy usage light, and when the power goes out the floor light part is bright and works exactly as required. I haven't used the flashlight function, as I have flashlights already, but I'm sure it would work great in a pinch. All in all, a very functional and good quality product for a good price.

One of the best lights for the money5
This Light is great!! We placed several around our house and they provide nice light output for a basic Night Light. Whats ever cooler is you can pull these out of the outlet and use them as flashlights with the internal rechargeable battery. They obviously dont produce a high level of brightness in flashlight mode (youll need one of Maxximas dedicated flashlights for that) but they are perfect for seeing around the room, and in emergency situations. If the power goes down these lights automatically go into emergency mode, lighting the lower light (this is the flashlight) on the unit allowing you to see where your going, or pull out of the wall and use as a flashlight. I would reccomend that everyone have at least 3 or 4 of these in their home.
