Great Cocoa For The Keurig!!
Don't be mistaken, there is no substitute for REAL cocoa made with fresh ingredients. But, for a quick cup of hot chocolate on the go, this is a really good product. I think this is the best cocoa you could expect using this type of a system.
It has a rich flavor and is very chocolaty. My kids love this product, since they get to make their own k-cup beverage just like mom and dad.
When making this beverage in the Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System or Keurig B-70 Gourmet Single Cup Home Brewing System, do NOT use the large setting; the drink will be too diluted.
Also, when removing the k-cup from the machine, remember to tilt it slightly or a few drops of residual hot cocoa will drip from the hole punched in the bottom of the k-cup. Unlike the coffee k-cups, there is no filter inside, only powder. So a few drops of liquid remain in the k-cup after "brewing". Merely tilt it a bit when you remove it from the machine and there will be no mess.
very good cocoa
After reading some of the reviews, I was leary to purchase this cocoa for our fabulous Keurig coffee maker, but had to try it out for ourselves. At first the cocoa did stick in the cup somewhat but a simple solution is to shake the cocoa cup before placing it in the machine and voila....none left in the little cup. We love it !!! On amazon at present buying more.
Weak unless you excavate the rest of the cocoa out
The output of Green Mountain Cocoa K-cups is highly variable - sometimes it's a well-flavored cup of cocoa, sometimes it's just brown water.
This is because sometimes, a significant amount of the cocoa powder stays behind in the cup after the brew cycle. To really get a consistent product, you have to pierce the foil top to see if there is stuff left behind; scoop it out and stir it in, and you get the well-flavored cocoa some reviewers are raving about.
This, however, is ludicrous - it defeats the fire-and-forget interaction that makes the Keurig worth it.
The only thing that saves the product from a 1-star review is that its quick sugar hit has prevented many an afternoon nap at work. :D
