That dummy in the window
After appearing on three early BBC-TV sitcoms, TROUBLE IN STORE was British comedian/singer/actor Norman Wisdom's first starring film role. Here he portrays a department store stockboy with ambitions of being a window dresser. After he's fired and rehired, Norman and a shopgirl he's sweet on discover a plot to rob the store. Along the way, there's lots of amusing sight gags, and Wisdom croons his theme song of sorts, "Don't Laugh at Me." Dame Margaret Rutherford easily manages to steal her few scenes in this pleasant, if dated British comedy. (Brought to you by TELEVISTA).
Fans of Sir Norman will also enjoy him in THE SQUARE PEG (another TELEVISTA product).
