Product Description

The Republic Tigers, Keep Color. Epic yet intimate, tracks like "Feelin' The Future" and the towering "Buildings & Mountains" see the Kansas City-based quintet weaving future folk, euphoric psychedelia, and exuberant symphonic pop with intricately crafted electronic textures and uncommon emotional depth. The result is a bold and beautiful collection of strikingly human music that holds an aural mirror to our ever more technologically integrated society. "It's a sound that's half organic and half synthetic, kind of like how all of our lives are now," says singer Kenn Jankowski. "It's the common theme throughout all our songs and we tried to approach it audibly as well."

Deep Music5
Thanks to Paste Magazine's free compilation CDs, I heard the single "Buildings and Mountains," in which I heard the sound of the future. So I ordered the EP, which only confirmed my belief that something special is at hand in this band. The full-length is a true gift to those wise enough to listen, with numerous standout songs even better than the single. I don't want to draw comparisons to other bands, because this is incomparable. I can't wait for their tour, because I have faith that this kind of magical music is best enjoyed live. For now, buy this album and soothe yourself on the fine melodies, songwriting and total lack of pretension. A beautiful debut.

unbelievably original5
If you are into hauntingly beautiful vocal melodies and textures that are completely uncommon from most modern bands you will be pleasantly surprised by this disk. Their music has already been featured on Greys Anatomy and they will be taking the world by storm very soon. Catch them on tour with Nada Surf and rumor has it that possible touring might include death cab for cutie. These gentlemen of Kansas City have created one of the most emotionally powerful releases in years.

Over thirteen?5
Over thirteen-the computer asks me as I am about to have a few nice things to say about this group.

Yeh-50 years over 13 which is to say you do not have to be young to like this CD. I'm usually wary of over produced CD's but this group is a very talented group who have produced some eminently listenable music.

A review of music-I don't really know how anyone can really write one. You either like something or you don't-and so called "music critics" are usually wrong.

So my "review" is to say-listen-you might like it. A bunch of us already do.
