READ BEFORE CONSIDERING:
I got this CD for Christmas thinking it was an original Michael Buble. I wanted to have every CD of his, but I was not going to buy "Totally Buble", because Michael had requested fans not buy it. Reason being that it was a recording done for a low-budget movie done before he was signed to Reprise Records/143 Records, and it's quality was not the best. And also because the CD was released without Michael's permission by the producer of the movie, who was just trying to make money off the Buble name after Michael got his big break.
Thinking I avoided "Totally Buble", I got this. I found later, however, that "Michael Buble Sings Totally Blonde" IS "Totally Buble" released under a different name and packaging. Don't be fooled by the 2008 release date; it's just a re-release designed to milk more money from the Buble name without his permission because the producer technically owns the material and, legally, can. It's not that it's a horrible CD (Though it's certianly NOT even close to the quality of Michael's original CDs), but as a matter of principle, please do not buy this or any other "Totally Buble". Michael didn't want it to be released in the first place, and it's re-release was no doubt done to get people to do what I have done: buy it thinking it's not "Totally Buble", and in the end be guzzumped into giving them your money anyway. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS!
Disappointed
I have 2 other CDs that I love - I was disappointed with this one. Songs just not my taste I guess.
Not Up to the Bublé Standard
A friend went out and bought me "Totally Bublé" and "Michael Bublé Sings Totally Bublé" not realizing that he was giving me the same album packaged differently. Furthermore this album is the one that Bublé did not want released.
Leaving out my disappointment at getting the same album twice under different names (which seems deceitful by the producer), I will say that this material is enjoyable. It is not up to the standard of "It's Time", "Let It Snow", or "Call Me Michael". In this early phase of his career, Bublé still sounds heavily influenced by Frank Sinatra. Orchestrations are dull. I think the main interest in this material is in hearing how much Bublé has progressed as he has gotten more experience and maturity. His own sound/voice has developed a great deal since this recording.
The only reason to buy this is if you absolutely must have everything Bublé has recorded. Otherwise, skip it.
