There's got to be something better...2
My son received this for his second birthday, he does enjoy playing with it but not for any long periods of time (like he will with many of his other toys). The cash register seems durable and it is cheap but that is really the only positives I can think of. It comes with 2 plastic "coins", 3 paper bills, and a hard plastic credit card. The machine says a series of phrases which have no relevance to the exact action you are doing. If you pass anything through the credit card slot, it will just say "that was $3" or "that is 1/2 off today). That doesn't even make sense and BTW you can make change for $3 b/c you don't have enough money to do so. The numbers on the keypad do not say their names, you can't add with it, etc. I really expected more, I do not anticipate that this toy will be played with a long time. I would much rather have an old fashioned cash register that made no noise where you could at least "pretend" without the incorrect answers of this machine getting in the way. I think I'm going to remove the batteries tomorrow and see if that works. Save your money and get something better. Oh, my son is gentle on his toys (he does not rip books and treats his toys with respect) if your child is not, the money will be gone within minutes as it is just flimsy paper money.

A cute cash register4
This was a last minute, throw in gift for my 21 mos. old. It was a good price and I thought she might like it. It was the hit of Christmas, barely beating out a train table with Thomas and a rocking horse. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it comes with only 2 'coins' and 2 pieces of paper money and the paper money is already destroyed and gone. More coins would be fun.

A great feature is the debit card. My daughter watches me swipe my card all the time and the she knew exactly what to do with the play card. The best part of this register is the scanner. Daughter also got a shopping cart with play food boxes in it and she can 'scan' her groceries, then pay for them with her card.

Very pleased with this purchase and I'd buy it as a gift.

toy cash register.4
I bought this for my grandchildren to use at my house. They love it and of course it is totally up to date with a card scanner. There are also voice saying that are different each time the drawer is opened about the "purchase." The money is 3 bills and 2 coins that come out when the open register is pushed. The paper bills are not the most durable. But making new money on my computer would be a breeze.
