Well built but won't fit all tripods as advertised
It seemed like such a simple plan - add a quick release plate to my venerable Tiltall tripod's 2 & 7/8th inch diameter camera mounting surface. Unfortunately,the base of the Manfrotto's quick release lever extends approximately 1/8th of an inch downward about 1 & 1/8th inches from the center of the bottom plate. This makes it impossible for the bottom plate to lay flat against my tripod's mounting surface.

The ad copy's assurance that this device allows you to "Add a quick release system to any tripod or monopod" turns out not to be true.

That said, it's a well made little gizmo and looks like would make the perfect addition to a different (perhaps, newer) tripod.

Works well
This is my first introduction to quick releases for tripods. And I'm pleased. I purchased this to work on my tripods and SLR cameras. It works well. A nice feature is the secondary lock so the lever can't be accidentally pulled out, releasing the camera from the tripod unintentionally.

Excellent quick release adapter. I especially like the safety mechanism that prevents the accidental release of the lever securing the camera.
