Customer Reviews

Slightly Disappointed3
This is a 2 disk set. It has lots of marches and they all sound very similar. The main thing is there were not many "Oom pah" numbers or contemporary Oktoberfest "hits". The one thing that makes the set worth its cost are the five or six yodeling numbers. However, they should market this CD as the "Oktoberfest march and yodel collection". If you've been to an Oktoberfest recently then you would expect a little more from a CD entitled "The World of Oktoberfest".

An Excellent Buy!5
As manager of "The Oktoberfest Webring," I am always on the lookout for CD's of good Oktoberfest music. This particlar two-disc set, which appears to be imported from Germany, fills the bill quite nicely. A number of different, highly skilled and talented musical groups are featured, including brass bands, small vocal ensembles, and even a number of yodelers. Most of the pieces are lively, entertaining, and will complement any Oktoberfest celebration or other German theme party. With a total of 32 selections, you get almost ninety minutes of music--a real bargain! I give this set two thumbs up!

Warning! Different Album by the Same Name!!3
The two other reviews here are for a different album called "Oktoberfest." The cover of that album is a close-up of a woman holding three steins of beer and has 32 tracks.

THIS album should have a cover of three women standing in full view toasting with beer. There are 37 tracks on this one, all recorded from the "Kalendar Band" and the "101 Strings Orchestra." You can see the track listings if you go to the MP3 download page. It sounds to me like the "Kalendar Band" is a synthesizer, but I could be mistaken.

I have no other opinion to give, but I just wanted people to know that the other reviews are for another product (Amazon tends to do this).
