Another Winner From Chesney!4
This is one of KC's best albums to date; in fact, the only songs I really don't like are "Everbody Wants To Go To Heaven" and "Ten With a Two." Other than these two songs, this album is great!

Once again, KC does not do traditional country music here; yet, this album does not have the same rock-and-roll sound of his previous hits such as "Young" and "Big Star." The first few songs on here are more soul bearing and refelctive, haunting and telling; think songs like "Road and the Radio" and "There Goes My Life." The second part of the album is KC's trademark "island country" music that has come to define his recent cds; think slower-versions of songs like "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem" and "When the Sun Goes Down."

Overall, most of the songs on "Lucky Old Sun" have a slower feel than many of KC's past albums - as if KC wanted this album to be about storytelling instead of simply producing "good time" music. My favorite songs are "I'm Alive", "Way Down Here" and "Nowhere To Go, Nowhere To Be." I highly recommend this album!

I love Kenny Chesney, but this one is a little melancholy on the one hand and recklessly beer soaked on the other...not my fave

My Favorite Chesney album yet!5
For me I can relate to many of the songs on this album. I have most if not all of these songs on my IPOD and listen to them frequently. I'm Alive is my personal favorite followed by nowhere to go nowhere to be. I'm alive was actually recorded by Willy Nelson previously.

As for the tone of this Album. Yeah its different from other albums he has put out. What do you expect from a man who went through a divorce and all of the hard life choices he has had in the past what 4 years. The break up of any relationship is never easy and to have it in the public eye makes it worse. Give the guy a break he has hard times just like the rest of us. I'm sure that nobody reading this is perfect and if in the same situation wouldn't do some if not all of the things he has done. The experiences he has gone through lately are going to change the tone of his songs and albums. If a person is going through rough times his music is going to be less happy less flamboyant.

For me that makes me like Kenny even more. It makes him real. He's a person too.
