It includes a VBG130 battery, and usually sells for less than the battery alone.

The case is okay... not especially convenient or roomy, but not bad looking. Some will like it. I just use the battery.

How can you go wrong?
This kit comes with a case and battery, it is that simple. Hi Def Camcorder starter kit? Okay.... Well the battery does fit Panasonic's great new camcorder HDC-HS300! What is terrific is that the battery (VBG130) sells ALONE for 45-60 dollars. Here you get it at J&R for 39 dollars with ostensibly a free case! The case is basic but useful.
