Customer Reviews
Polished and expressive.
Oli's second album and the follow-up to his critillay acclaimed 2007 "So Many Ways" finds the talented Britain born young keyboard player at his best.
His music is a diverse mix of many musical influences derived from personal relationships and inspirations, from both the side of the Arlantic, he has been experienced over the years.
If you are into quality Smooth Jazz then cuts like the Jeff Lorber's nice track "Seventh Heaven" and 'The Limit's The Sky' fit the bill.
You may enjoy "S.O.S.O.S" with its infectious rhythm guitar or the gorgeous riff laden "Lime Cordial Soup".
Add a dose of Soul on the gentle floater "That Kinda Love" featuring Donnell Spencer Jr on vocals.
The renowned saxman Jaared adds his soulful playing on several tracks.
He is supported by a band that's cool and tight: Dwayne 'Smitty' Smith (Bass), Donnell Spencer Jr. (Drums), Nigel Williams (Guitar), Rodney Lee (Keys). This consistent album will appeal to those who enjoy something new in Contemporary Jazz and grooveheads and jazz connoisseurs
Give this enjoyable album a spin, you will not regret.
So Many Ways
Simply irrestible to one who loves good jazz music
This cd is simply outstanding. This artist is off the chain. He has shown that if he continues on this path, that he will become a great jazz artist. His music makes it seem like he has been doing this all his life , yet he has developed his own style. I'm going back and purchase his first project, that I have listened to and must have it for my collection, as well.
I've been listening to jazz for over thirty years, and this cat is BAD.Please keep up the outstanding work, Oli. You are truly blessed with awesome musical talent.
OLI SILK..THE LIMIT'S THE SKY
THIS IS A LITTLE KNOWN ARTIST IN MY CIRCLE. BUT I HAVE TWO OF HIS CD'S AND THEY ARE WELL ORCHESTRATED. IN A FEWS WORDS, THIS ARTIST IS OFF THE HOOK.
