Album Description
Kindred The Family Soul is known to many simply as Kindred. Their third release, The Arrival, is a collection of twelve songs and interludes which highlight their growth as songwriters, artists and as citizens of the world. Ironically, the birth of The Arrival comes on the heels of the arrival of two new additions to their own family with twin girls who inspired the title of the album. Kindred are core artists at Urban Adult radio with three Top 10 singles 'Far Away', 'Stars' and 'Where Would I Be?' under their belt and a fourth on the way with the timeless and timely song 'House of Love'. The title The Arrival invokes travel themes. Kindred's home base in Philly lies on the transportation corridor between NY and DC.
Customer Reviews
This is what "soulfulness" is all about.
On the footprints of Ashford and Simpson or Womack and Womack, husband-and-wife duo, Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon from Philly release their third set, which is a reiteration of their love for each of other and Soul music.
The album is titled after the arrival of their twin children.
It is quality mainly mid and down tempo Soul /R&B love songs, with great harmonies.
"Can't Help It" is a really great beat ballad that gets better each time you hear it.
"Alright" and "Pressure" are mid tempos with good grooves.
"Just The Way You Are" is a melodic mid tempo, "Rightfully So" and "No Limit" are excellent beat ballads.
"Love We Share" is a mid tempo with a fuller sound, "House Of Love" and R&B ballad and the spoken word "Always Be Arriving", featuring Malik Yusef gives an interesting take on "Rocking You Eternally".
Critically acclaimed as the next big thing coming from Philly after Jill Scott, Bilal, Musiq or Vivian Green, the duo is similar in vibe to their second set, but it is their debut "Surrender To Love" that remains one of the greatest albums of the 00's.
Just listen to the twelve songs of the album and surrender to the freshness and the soulfulness of their latest offering.
There's a great deal of positive energy, creativity, warmth, sincerity in this album.
The soulful duo offer a journey in their everyday life as a couple and ordinary people. The lyrics are full of poetry and honesty, the voices incredibely soulful and they are supported by an admirable band.
This album takes a couple of plays to fully appreciate but is worth the effort.
You will like it.
The album debuts at # 7 of The Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums and at # 67 of The Billboard 200.

Surrender to Love
Kindred has done it again. Great Album.
Since first I listen to Jill Scott I love her from the start but wanted more so I explore in her independent label Hidden Beach and found Kindred The Family of Soul. Their duets are always so perfect in this neo-soul genre that it's their 3rd album and still amazed. Great CD for neo-soul fans and if looking for something nice too listen buy this CD.
Wonderful
I heard one of the songs on the radio and had to buy the album. The album is wonderful!
