According to Wikipedia: "Charles John Huffam Dickens, FRSA (IPA: /ˈtʃɑ:lz ˈdɪkɪnz/; 7 February 1812 – 9 June 1870), pen-name "Boz", was one of the most popular English novelists of the Victorian era as well as a vigorous social campaigner. Critics George Gissing and G. K. Chesterton championed Dickens's mastery of prose, his endless invention of unique, clever personalities, and his powerful social sensibilities, but fellow writers such as George Henry Lewes, Henry James, and Virginia Woolf faulted his work for sentimentality, implausible occurrences, and grotesque characterizations. The popularity of Dickens's novels and short stories has meant that they have never gone out of print. Many of Dickens's novels first appeared in periodicals and magazines in serialized form—a popular format for fiction at the time—and, unlike many other authors who completed entire novels before serial production commenced, Dickens often composed his works in parts, in the order in which they were meant to appear. Such a practice lent his stories a particular rhythm, punctuated by one minor "cliffhanger" after another, to keep the (original) public looking forward to the next installment."
Responding to customer feedback, I improved the formatting on 7/3/2009. If you bought a copy before then, you should be able to download the new version at no additional cost. Feedback always welcome. seltzer@samizdat.com

A cracking bargain set from Samizdat - exactly what it says, all 16 of Dickens's novels (no Short Stories etc - but I prefer this somewhat shorter file to a total, everything-in-one format).
Overall index at opening with links to the start of each of the novels. Layout of the contents is neatly done (though the Dickens-written tables of contents at the start of each novel have a few minor layout problems at all font sizes). The double space between paragraphs can look a little odd at large font sizes but, equally, is very easy on the eye at the small sizes).
Metadata - a complaint and a quibble here. Complaint: Author indexes under "C" for Charles not "D" for Dickens - this can be fixed at home via Mobi2Mobi (3rd party software), but shouldn't be wrong in the first place. (Although Kindle displays names in the format "Charles Dickens" it requires the metadata to present as "Dickens, Charles" to get the correct indexing). Quibble - the Title metadata "Classic British Fiction: All 16...." etc is, in my view, awkward on the Kindle, especially if you sort by Title. Via Mobi2Mobi I altered this to "Dickens: All 16 Novels (Classic British Fiction Series)". Makes it easier to find quickly, especially if you have others in the Samizdat "CBF" series.
All in all, a great set at an unmissable price.
