Album Description
Nod to the Storyteller is Nadirah's tribute to Jimmy Buffett who for the last 13 years has featured her as a part of his show. Buffett fans (affectionately known as Parrottheads) have come to know and love Nadirah and claim her as their own. The CD includes Nadirah's interpretations of popular Buffett songs like Margaritaville, and Volcano. Also notable are two duets she sings with him including Son of a Son of a Sailor and Eric Clapton's When the War is Over.
Customer Reviews
Love it!
This CD is great. Nadirah's voice is pure and sweet and she offers a nice take on some of the Buffett standards. The songs new to me are fantastic. It's a nice addition to a music library; the songs are fun.
What a Voice...Just not here
Nadirah Shakoor has the pipes, but does not show her full talent on this CD. She has been Jimmy Buffett's main back-up talent for years. On this CD she pays homage to here summertime employer. There is a uniques selection of songs...and not just Jimmy's most popular. I enjoyed this CD, but wished that Nadirah had chosen songs that really showed her vocal talent.
Pure soul from the heart
I totally enjoyed this CD and recommend it to everyone, parrotheads and
non-parrotheads alike. I particularly love "They call me Jesus" and the remix of "Volcano"(with a whole bunch of soul) Jimmy should be proud as hell to have Nadirah and the rest of Coral Reefers representing him and the record label this way.
