FINALLY!!!
Wow, finally we have found something to work to dock the Ipod in the minivan. We had a Belkin dock for a couple years...the one that plugs into the A/C and has the arm that extends out and moves where you want it. We just always had so much trouble with it staying put. We have an Ipod Classic 160GB, and it is the heaviest model, and the dock would always slip because we could never get it to be tight enough in the A/C plug. It was SO FRUSTRATING! This product is great. It is not a power supply and it does not have an FM transmitter. We use a tape deck to play the Ipod through, so that we get the best sound, so we don't need the FM transmitter. And, we have an A/C plug for the Ipod so we just leave it plugged in while we drive so the Ipod doesn't run down the battery. ANYWAY, this Kensington "arm" dock is so great. It turns every which way so that you can mount it anywhere. We have a van that has a console that sticks out so we actually mounted it on the side of the console, so that the Ipod now sits right next to the radio and the cords can all reach. I really recommend this for anyone who does not need the FM transmitter or A/C connector dock. VERY STURDY, VERY EASY TO INSTALL, VERY FLEXIBLE FOR USE, GREAT DESIGN!!

June 2009 update:
We still love this but wanted to update and say that in the summer, the adhesive just doesn't stick so well...so about every time we get in the van we have to re-stick it. It doesn't ever fall when we are in the car, after we re-stick it and we have the AC going...but just when not in use. So at least it is not putting our Ipod in danger of falling. We still love it and would recommend it.

I wanted an alternative to my iphone laying in my center console and looked for a dash mount product. This Kensington product delivered on its claim of mounting easily on the dashboard but it something unexpected too - it also easily mounts on the windshield with the built-in suction cup. The suction cup mount is very solid and effective, similar to the style of my Garmin GPS.

I mounted mine on the left side of my windshield next to roof pillar. This allows for a clear line of sight to the road and also a short reach to change songs while listening to the iphone's music.

Want something that mounts on the dash or windshield and has a firm grip on your iphone (even with the case on) then look no further. Highly recommend.

I never tried the sticky stuff on the dash.

This should work with any phone, I know my old Q9M fits fine as well. Maybe some of the thicker blackberry's would have difficulty, don't know.

Once you set the width, you can put the phone in and pull it out without releasing the sides, so its fast for daily use.

I mounted this in my 350Z at the top of the windshield and have it pressing lightly on the sun visor to eliminate any shaking and it is well out of my view with the iPhone turned sideways.

This is the first setup I have had where I can use my phone in speakerphone mode and it actually work.

I have also tried using it to record video and it is phenomenal.
