Album Description
Canopy Glow's opening salvo, Noni's Field, introduces straight away the topic of death. Among lush pile-ups of Pet Sounds harmonyand Sung Tongs texture, Anathallo's Matt Joynt and Erica Fromansing to the rafters: We saw the sky, swarming full with the light thatthe fireflies made / An accidental constellation / You, how will you go? Out through your mouth in a sigh? / Into a space we don't know. It's a surprisingly beautiful rendering of life's most feared result: calm and considered, yet wide-eyed in approach, and colored by kaleidoscopic detail. Canopy Glow, Anathallo's second full-length (and first for Anticon), could be described just the same.

Anathallo Does It Again5
I've been listening to Anathallo for a good 6 years now and they never cease to impress. Every consecutive album they grow and improve, while retaining their creativity and sincere musical curiosity. In film I often yearn for a director who makes stunning, deep, interesting, and skillfully crafted films that are joyful and good...too often I feel as though the best of our films this decade are amazing, but amazingly dreary or dark or death-filled. While I have yet to find many directors who are moving away from the amazingly terrible to the amazingly joyful, Anathallo should be recognized for this in the land of music. Their musicality expresses deep meaning, tells intriguing and unique stories, and resounds with thoughtful craftsmanship, yet its thoughtfulness does not stray towards cynicism or desolate self-realization. Rather, Anathallo strikes a chord of brilliance and resounding joy that is often calm and entrancing with moments of powerful triumph.

Historically, I have purchased multiples copies of their albums everytime a new release comes to pass... I enjoy giving such fine music to my friends and family and know they will delightfully surprised by the talent, accessibility, and depth of this not-so-mainstream band.

Thanks Anathallo.

Great new Anathallo CD5
I enjoy the other Anathallo CDs, but I really like how this one flows. I feel that the songs on this album are much more catchy than their past albums. I find myself singing the second track without even thinking about it.

Anathallo is amazing.5
I'm not much of a reviewer person. But I had to just put my two cents in that Anathallo is one of the greatest bands out there today.

While this album doesn't have the lasting power that their previous effort "Floating World" did, it is much easier to get into for those new to Anathallo. This is probably a good place to start and easier to digest.
